I fell in love with vintage campers this week.
This 1960s Shasta camper (or possibly a 2015 re-issue) was parked near the entrance of our campground. Every time I passed it I just stared at it.
Little vintage campers like this have so much more character than the modern ones today. Everything from the shape to the bright colors to the white wall tires give this thing character. And it has wings!
So much cooler than the brown and beige swirly designs on a modern boxy camper.
I’ve been diving deeper down the rabbit hole of vintage campers. There are sites dedicated to buying and selling refurbished ones. There are entire festivals and shows centered around vintage campers. A whole community. And I want to be a part of it.
Luckily Corinne likes them too. We both like the idea of finding an old one and making it a nice project. So we’re now in the market for a vintage camper we can refurbish and customize.
This one is a beauty! Instagram is a great place to see vintage campers. Many campers have their own pages there.
