I played in a sweaty basement the other night with Chiseled Lilies and it was a fantastic time. DIY house shows in many ways are a much better fit for me.
Sure it’s cool to have fancy lights and be up on a stage with nice house PA system sometimes. But being on a concrete floor at eye level with people is a way more intimate experience. It builds such a sense of camaraderie you can’t get from being “separated”, even by a 2-foot high stage.
I hope we can do it again soon.
