“Look, that sign has Pluto!” The kids yell to us to draw our attention toward the sky. The bright neon of Pluto’s Toy Palace glows yellow against the darkening sky. The night lights up all around with neon signs and big flashing lightbulbs.
Stepping into the streets of Disney’s Hollywood Studios is like stepping back in time to the 1940s. The glitz and glam of Hollywood’s olden days surrounds you. I feel a sense of wonder at the beautiful architecture, the street performers in period clothing, the curves of old cars parked in the street.
Through the energetic hum of the voices talking and laughing I can hear music. Brassy horns and tinny melodies of Disney songs played in the style of 1940s jazz complete the atmosphere.
This is exactly how I imagine Hollywood Boulevard to have been like in days gone by.
