I’ve always had an interest in guerrilla art and social experiments, and wanted to try one myself. This particular one has been in the works for some time now and I’m happy to see it finally coming together.
Disposable Photo is both an art project and social experiment. The idea is to leave cameras out in public for anyone to find and use. It’s a fun way to anonymously take and share pictures of public places in the community. Once the cameras are filled up they are collected, developed, and uploaded to disposablephoto.com.
Each camera has an ID on it so finders can take note and easily view the pictures from the same camera online.
The project is still in the starting phases. One camera was already stolen, but two more have been dropped along Penn Ave. in West Reading, PA. Go here for a list of camera locations.
Note: This project has since been abandoned and links removed from this post
