charity: water is a fantastic non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. I did a birthday campaign last year and, after pausing a moment during my daughter’s bath time to think on how simple it is for us to turn on a tap for clean water, I decided to do it again this year.
I’m blessed to have access to the necessities to live a happy and healthy life, and more than enough material stuff. So this year I don’t want presents. I want clean water.
Clean water for the millions of kids around the world don’t live to see their fifth birthday because they don’t have access to clean, safe drinking water. Clean water for the women and children around the world who walk hours every day to collect water for their families. Clean water for the one in nine people in our world doesn’t have access to the most basic of human needs. One in nine is too many. We can help change that.
I’m asking for my age in dollars from everyone I know. Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they’ve been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we’ll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
Help me reach my goal. Please donate to my birthday campaign!
