It’s October 23, and I think autumn has finally decided to stick around. That’s my hope at least. After a seemingly last effort from summer this past week with temperatures in the 80s, this weekend felt a proper chill in the air.
This is my favorite time of year and one of the best things about living somewhere that has four seasons. The leaves are a beautiful collage of all the colors you’d expect in the northeastern United States. Browns, yellows, oranges, and every shade of red.
Wearing cozy clothing like jeans, flannel, sweaters, and jackets. Stepping inside a warm house after being in the crisp, cool air.
Hot chocolate.
Seeing the kids find so much joy in a simple thing like leaves on the ground. Watching their faces light up when they catch the first glimpse of the big pile I’ve been raking. Carving pumpkins.
It really is a beautiful time of the year. I’m grateful I get to enjoy it and share it with my family.
It is beautiful. The only thing I don’t like about Fall is that winter comes next!
